Fruition Nova

Fruition Nova is a world first, in that it is the first trap, to attract and kill, the mature egg laying female fly. Developed in collaboration with Australian company Agnova, this trap is essential for commercial and home gardeners seeking to improve crop yield and minimise losses from this nefarious pest!! The trap works by using a lure that mimics the odour of ripening fruit to bring the female fly into the vicinity of the trap. When she has been drawn in she identifies the yellow sticky discs as the egg laying surface. A seemingly simple principle, yet one that’s never been achieved before and represents the pinnacle achievement of a life times work by professor fruit fly. The trap has been proven to attract all the major species of pest fruit fly present along eastern Australia, where growers have seen tremendous increases in crop yield. Fruition Nova has been tested extensively, including on traditionally highly vulnerable crops such as Feijoa trees in which the trap was able to truly demonstrate its capability and potential as a key tool in managing pest fruit fly. Importantly, the trap does not attract other insects such as native bees which frequently hang around gardens and play a highly valuable role in both our local and greater ecosystems.

Fruition natflav

Fruition Natflav is a protein bait spray that is designed to be used alongside Fruition Nova for greater protection. Where Fruition Nova targets the mature egg laying fly, Fruition Natflav targets the immature female. The two complement each other perfectly which is why we recommend you use them together. Young female flies require protein in order to reach sexual maturity and therefore seek it out. The protein bait is made out of left over brewers yeast and is designed to be mixed with a small amount of insecticide and selectively sprayed onto small areas of the leaves. Whereas in traditionally used cover sprays the entire tree is sprayed the protein bait spray requires only small areas of the tree to be sprayed keeping the fruit entirely free from insecticides and sprays.

For the best possible protection we recommend using both fruition Nova and Fruition Natflav. The two methods of control target the female fly at different stages of the life-cycle ensuring the best possible protection. In the fruit fly world we recognise that there is no such thing as “100% protection” but we firmly believe that these products provide the greatest possible protection on the market today and this has been consistently demonstrated throughout years of field trials and testomonials from both growers and home gardeners alike.
